James Taylor's summer tour kicks off in June
Folk-rock legend James Taylor plans to spend yet another summer on the North American tour circuit.
The singer/songwriter's itinerary kicks off mid-June in his native New England, and dates stretch into September. Details are included below.
Backing Taylor on the road will be longtime mates Steve Gadd (drums), Jimmy Johnson (bass), Michael Landau (guitar), Luis Conte (percussion), Larry Goldings (keyboards), Andrea Zonn (Fiddle) and Arnold McCuller and Kate Markowitz (backing vocals).
"Live is real, as real as it gets for us show folk," Taylor said in a statement. "The summer night, the crowd and the band across the land. It's still the thrill of my life, terrifying and familiar ... can't stop."
Fans can expect to hear hits from throughout Taylor's catalog, such as "Your Smiling Face," "Mexico," "That's Why I'm Here," "How Sweet It Is," "Fire and Rain," "Sweet Baby James," "Carolina in My Mind" and more, according to a press release.
Taylor's most recent album of all-new material is 2002's "October Road." A holiday set titled "James Taylor: A Christmas Album"--sold exclusively at Hallmark retail outlets--followed last year.
"River," a non-album track originally recorded by Joni Mitchell, is available as a free download from Taylor's website.
