Briefly: Nine Inch Nails, Robert Cray, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Good Charlotte
Trent Reznor's previous NIN album, "The Fragile," debuted at No. 1 in 1999.
Mariah Carey's "The Emancipation of Mimi" holds steady at No. 2 on The Billboard 200 chart, while Rob Thomas' "... Something To Be" climbs one spot to No. 3.
50 Cent's "The Massacre" moves up two rungs to No. 4, while Bruce Springsteen's "Devils & Dust"--last week's No. 1 album--rounds out the Top 5.
Bluesman Robert Cray will release a new album titled "Twenty" on May 24. The title track, which is about a young man who joins the military after 9/11 and ends up dying in Iraq, will be offered on May 24 as streaming audio on the TrueMajority.org website.
Kings of Leon, Herbie Hancock, Matisyahu and De La Soul are the latest additions to the Bonnaroo festival, set for June 10-12 in Manchester, TN.
Ben Kweller, Drive-By Truckers and ... And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead are among several new acts added to this year's Lollapalooza bill. The event is set for July 23-24 at Chicago's Grant Park; the full lineup is posted at the festival's website.
Good Charlotte has announced the exit of its drummer via a message on the band's website.
"Many of you may already know, our drummer Chris Wilson has been on and off the road due to personal health problems," said the band's statement. "Unfortunately, his problems continue and we have made a collective decision to have Chris stay around his friends and family and begin to truly rehabilitate. As of the beginning of the Good Charlotte 'Noise To the World Tour' with Simple Plan, GC will be playing with Dean Butterworth (who most recently played with Morrissey)."
