Country singer-turned-actor Dwight Yoakam [ tickets ] plans to spend a lot of time on the road in the coming months to back his new album, "Blame the Vain," due June 14.

Yoakam so far is set to play shows at dozens of casinos throughout North America; details are below.

"Blame the Vain" marks the first time that Yoakam has solely produced an album, which features 12 tracks he penned himself.

"There's a lot of reckless joy on this album," Yoakam said in a press release. "We never left a session that wasn't flat-out fun."

Yoakam's most recent album of all-new material was 2003's "Population Me." It was followed by 2004's "The Very Best of Dwight Yoakam."

Also a successful actor, Yoakam has starring roles in two films scheduled for release this year: "Bandidas," with Penelope Cruz and Salma Hayek; and "The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada," directed and starring Tommy Lee Jones. He also has a cameo in the Owen Wilson/Vince Vaughan movie "The Wedding Crashers."

Though he's a Kentucky native, Yoakam grew up in Columbus, OH. On Sunday (5/7), he was the keynote speaker at the commencement ceremony for Ohio Valley College. The college gave him an honorary doctorate.
