Original Black Crowes drummer rejoins the fray

Steve Gorman, The Black Crowes ' original drummer, has rejoined the band. He made his return Thursday night (5/5) in Atlanta, according to the group's publicist.

Bill Dubrow, previously of Crowes guitarist Rich Robinson's band Hookah Brown, played drums on the band's earlier shows.

The Crowes are currently in the midst of a 20-city spring headlining tour--marking their first live performances since 2001--and will support Tom Petty on a summer amphitheater jaunt.

Gorman joins brothers Chris Robinson (vocals) and Rich Robinson (guitars) as the only original Black Crowes members who remain with the band. The band is rounded out by guitarist Marc Ford (who was fired from the band in 1997) and keyboardist Eddie Hawysch (aka Eddi Harsch), both of whom joined the group after its debut album and tour in 1990; and bassist Sven Pipien, who first joined the group in 1997.
