Austin City Limits fest nabs Coldplay, Widespread Panic, Oasis
Coldplay , Widespread Panic , Oasis , The Black Crowes , The Allman Brothers Band and Wilco are among the dozens of acts scheduled to appear at the fourth annual Austin City Limits Festival in Austin, TX.
The event is set for Sept. 23-25 at Zilker Park, which will be outfitted with eight separate stages.
Additional artists on the bill include Jimmy Cliff, Robert Randolph & The Family Band, Lyle Lovett, John Prine, Lucinda Williams, Buddy Guy, Jet, Dierks Bentley, Thievery Corporation, The Arcade Fire, Death Cab for Cutie, Bob Mould, Built to Spill, Bloc Party, Steve Earle & The Dukes, Franz Ferdinand, Gov't Mule, Sleater-Kinney, Kasabian, Zap Mama, Robert Earl Keen, Keane, Tortoise, The Doves, The Black Keys, Leo Kottke & Mike Gordon, The Walkmen and Jason Mraz.
About 130 acts will perform in all; the confirmed line-up and ticket information is available at the event's website.
"We're excited about the diverse musical talent playing at this year's Festival and feel strongly this lineup has something for everyone," event producer Charlie Jones said in a statement. "The stellar music, the beautiful setting, and some of the best accommodations available at a music festival make the ACL Music Festival an event that people want to attend year after year."
According to a press release, the festival was "created in the spirit of" the long-running public television show "Austin City Limits," which captures live performances by established and emerging artists.
