Duran Duran lines up summer roadwork
Eighties fashion-rockers Duran Duran , who have been touring regularly since reuniting in 2003 for a 25th anniversary tour, have lined up a new round of summer tour dates in the U.S.
The outing, which hits a mix of theaters and outdoor venues, is currently scheduled to visit 14 cities in July and August. Tickets will go on the market over the next few weeks, according to the band's official website; details are in the itinerary below.
The band continues to support "Astronaut," the first studio album in 21 years from the original five-man Duran Duran lineup. The set, which features the single "(Reach Up for the) Sunrise," surfaced on Epic Records last October
Duran Duran's 2003 anniversary tour marked the first time that John Taylor (bass), Nick Rhodes (keyboards), Simon LeBon (vocals), Andy Taylor (guitar) and Roger Taylor (drums) hit the stage together since 1985's Live Aid.
"We're very lucky to be able to go back and reclaim something that was a very special part of all our lives, and to go back and pick it up and move it forward again," Roger Taylor said in a February interview with liveDaily. "We're lucky, because everybody was all on the same page. Nobody has really gone out there on a different musical journey. When we got back together again, we all wanted to do the same kind of music again. We were still listening to all the same kind of stuff."
