Wilco firms up itinerary through June
Wilco is scheduled to play concerts in more than a dozen cities in May and June, including a four-night stand in the band's home base of Chicago.
Though details haven't been released, the sold-out Chicago shows--set for May 4-7--will apparently lead to some kind of live release. "Tape and/or film will definitely be rolling," said an email message recently sent to the band's mailing list. "Okay, you’ve been warned. Don't be late."
The remainder of the band's North American itinerary comprises headlining dates--including a pair of shows with The Roots--and festival appearances. Details are in the itinerary below.
"A Ghost is Born," Wilco's latest album, hit stores last June. The band co-produced the set with Jim O'Rourke, who engineered the group's previous release, 2002's gold-certified "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot."
Joining Wilco's touring band this year are keyboardist/guitarist Pat Sansone (The Autumn Defense) and guitarist Nels Cline.
Last year, multi-instrumentalist Leroy Bach, who officially joined the band before the release of 2002's "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot," departed. Programmer/keyboardist Mikael Jorgenson has since taken over Bach's slot.
The only remaining original members of Wilco are frontman/guitarist Jeff Tweedy and bassist John Stirratt.
