Allman Brothers map tour plans through the summer

With the addition of a slew of new North American amphitheater shows, Southern-rock icons The Allman Brothers Band are now set to remain on the road through the summer.

The next leg of Allmans dates gets underway May 6 in Los Angeles, with Martin Sexton opening. Sexton will again be on the bill the following night in Santa Barbara, CA. A previously announced 11-day run with Lynyrd Skynyrd will follow.

Other than a stop at Tennessee's Bonnaroo festival, the Allmans will take a break in June before embarking on the July/August trek through outdoor venues. Gavin DeGraw or moe. will open on most dates; details are in the itinerary below.

The Allman Brothers Band's current lineup features Gregg Allman (vocals and keyboards), Butch Trucks (drums and tympani), Jaimoe (drums), Warren Haynes (vocals, lead and slide guitar), Derek Trucks (slide and lead guitar), Oteil Burbridge (bass) and Marc Quinones (congas and percussion). Longtime guitarist Dickey Betts parted ways with the group in 2000, citing "creative differences."
