O.A.R. wraps up spring tour, books summer run
Now nearing the end of their spring road trip, hard-touring rockers O.A.R. already have their sights set on an ambitious summer headlining trek.
The summer jaunt kicks off with a July 9 performance at Milwaukee's annual Summerfest, and dates so far run into late August. The itinerary includes a handful of mid-July opening sets for the Dave Matthews Band, and a headlining performance at the fourth annual Feeling Better Than Everfine Festival in Chicago on Aug. 20. Details are shown below.
"We are really excited to get out there and hit the amphitheatres this summer," singer Marc Roberge said in a statement. "We had 15 sold-out shows on our spring tour which took our music and fan base to an entirely different level. Plus, being able to join Dave Matthews Band on a few dates is the icing on the cake of an already exciting summer."
The group's 2005 tour plans also include a slot at this June's Bonnaroo festival, and a fall stint aboard a music-themed cruise dubbed Rock the Boat.
O.A.R.'s most recent studio album is 2003's "In Between Now and Then." A live CD and DVD titled "34th & 8th"--recorded at New York City's Hammerstein Ballroom--followed last year.
Earlier this year, O.A.R. began working on a new album that is expected to surface in the fall.
