Nelly heats things up with more 'Sweat/Suit Tour' dates
Nelly , who recently resumed his tour after postponing several dates following his sister's death, has rolled out more shows.
The St. Louis rapper's schedule now includes a stretch of May dates and a pair of June stops in Texas. A European outing follows before he returns to the states for some summer shows. Details are shown below.
The aforementioned Texas shows--June 2 in Hidalgo and June 3 in Beaumont-- represent make-up dates for concerts originally scheduled to take place March 25 and March 24, respectively. Those performances--along with a March 26 stop in El Paso and a March 28 stop in Nacogdoches--were shelved last month when Nelly's sister, Jackie Donahue, died following a lengthy battle with leukemia.
Tickets for the originally scheduled performance in Hidalgo will be honored on the make-up date; meanwhile, refunds were automatically issued for all tickets sold via phone and Internet to the originally planned show in Beaumont, according to Ticketmaster; tickets for the June 3 make-up performance are currently on sale. (Ticketmaster is liveDaily's parent company.)
A make-up date for the El Paso performance is still pending, while the Nacogdoches stop has been canceled altogether, according to local reports.
Details about the European tour are posted at Nelly's website.
Nelly is on the road behind his simultaneously released albums "Sweat" and "Suit," which sold about 342,000 copies and 396,000 copies, respectively, during their first week in stores last September, earning debuts in the top two slots on The Billboard 200 album chart.
The two albums follow Nelly's 2002 sophomore release, "Nellyville," which is certified six-times platinum for sales of 6 million copies in the U.S., according to Universal Records. His 2000 debut, "Country Grammar," is certified nine-times platinum.
