There's finally some evidence that a long-rumored summer tour by The Rolling Stones is getting off the ground.

The Boston Herald reports that Boston Red Sox officials have asked city lawmakers to approve Aug. 21 and 23 concerts at Fenway Park. Though the Stones aren't mentioned in the request, the Herald quotes one Red Sox official saying that the band that will play those nights "has 40 years of experience and is one of the greatest rock 'n' roll bands in history."

Former Smashing Pumpkins/Zwan frontman Billy Corgan will release his solo debut, "Thefutureembrace," on June 21. He plans to open a supporting tour in July.

Among the album's 11 tracks is a cover of The Bee Gees' "To Love Somebody" that features backing vocals from The Cure's Robert Smith.

"I tried to sum up all my feelings about my life and the world around me in the most beautiful ways I could dream up," Corgan said in a statement. "It is easy to be negative, and much harder to find that silver lining behind the clouds of modern society."

Country singer Tim McGraw has been named a spokesman for The American Red Cross' "Neighbors Give Life" national blood drive, which runs through Sept. 5.

Caitlin Cary (Whiskeytown, Tres Chicas) has teamed with singer/songwriter Thad Cockrell for a duets album titled "Begonias," which hits stores June 14. Brad Jones (Josh Rouse, Jill Sobule) produced the set, which was recorded in Nashville.

Cary and Cockrell plan to tour this summer behind the album.
