Audioslave precedes album release with spring club tour

Rock supergroup Audioslave has finished its sophomore album, and will hit the road for a round of club shows that gets underway before the set lands in stores.

The run launches April 14 in Las Vegas, and wraps up May 20 in Los Angeles. In all, the tour is scheduled to touch down in 20 cities. Details are shown below.

"Being in this band just makes it so easy to get lost in the music," frontman Chris Cornell said in a statement. "With Audioslave, I have really started to like being on the road and we are planning to tour a lot."

Cornell and company--guitarist Tom Morello, drummer Brad Wilk and bassist Tim Commerford--are slated to follow the U.S. club trek with a European jaunt that kicks off in late May and runs at least through early July. Details are available at the band's website.

Also posted at the site is a streaming version of a new song titled "Be Yourself," the first single from the group's new album, which is due out in May; neither a title for the album nor a specific release date has been announced.

The new album follows the band's 2002, self-titled debut, a platinum-certified set that spawned the hits "Cochise" and "Like a Stone."
