Elvis Costello launches his latest round of U.S. tour dates Wednesday night (3/2), and is now slated to remain on the road through at least early May.
New to Costello's itinerary are late April stops in Norfolk, VA; and Athens, GA; as well as early May stops in Kansas City, MO; St. Louis, MO; and Cincinnati, OH. Details are shown below.
The roadwork backs last year's "The Delivery Man," the singer-songwriter's latest studio album with his band The Imposters. On Tuesday, Lost Highway Records issued an updated version of set that now includes a bonus disc of Costello's "The Clarksdale Sessions" EP, which he and The Imposters recorded during rehearsals for the "Delivery Man."
Originally released as a stand-alone vinyl release earlier this year, "The Clarksdale Sessions" takes its name from the one-room Clarksdale, MS, studio where it was recorded. Its tracks include alternate versions of "The Delivery Man" cuts "Monkey to Man" (titled "Monkey" on the EP),"Country Darkness," "Needle Time," "The Scarlet Tide" and the title track. It also features the previously unreleased Costello song "In Another Room" and a cover of "Dark End of the Street."
Five exclusive, live tracks from "The Delivery Man" are currently available at Apple's iTunes Music Store in a collection dubbed "The Futurama Sessions."
On April 19, Eagle Rock Entertainment will issue "Club Date Live In Memphis," a DVD that Costello and Imposters shot during a summer 2004 performance at the Hi-Tone Lounge.
