Briefly: 50 Cent, Michael Jackson, Tim McGraw, Negativland
Shortly after rapper 50 Cent said during a Monday night (2/28) appearance on New York radio station Hot 97 that he had booted his protege The Game from the rap crew G-Unit, a man was shot in the leg in the radio station's lobby.
Newsday reported that the wounded man was a member of 50 Cent's entourage. The rapper, who was still in the building, wasn't injured.
The Michael Jackson child-molestation trial continued Tuesday (3/1) in Santa Maria, CA, with the defense's opening statement.
Jackson's lawyer told the jury that his client "flat-out denies these molestation allegations," and argued that investigators found no DNA evidence in Jackson's bedroom that linked him to alleged crimes.
Tim McGraw is scheduled to perform an acoustic concert March 11 at the annual Larry King Cardiac Foundation Benefit.
Experimental group Negativland plans to issue a new CD/book titled "No Business" on May 26. According to a website announcement, the package will include a 56-page book, a computer-playable video and a 37-minute audio album, all presenting Negativland's "current take on issues of file-sharing, downloading, appropriation and the supposed collapse of the music business, circa 2005."
Two tracks from the disc are available to download for free at the group's site.
