Velvet Revolver reloads for spring trek
Supergroup Velvet Revolver , a band that took home this year's Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance, is set to embark on a spring tour of North American arenas and amphitheaters.
The outing, dubbed "Electric Wonderland Show," opens with a March run through Canada, tackles the U.S. West Coast in April, and wraps up in Florida in late May. Details are in the itinerary below; Hoobastank has been tapped to open the Western swing, according to a press release.
VIP tickets for the tour will be offered; details are available at Velvet Revolver 's website.
Velvet Revolver features ex-Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland; former Guns N' Roses members Slash (guitar), Duff McKagan (bass) and Matt Sorum (drums); and former Suicidal Tendencies member David Kushner (guitar).
"Contraband," the group's debut album, surfaced in June, and spawned the Grammy-winning single "Slither." It entered The Billboard 200 album chart at No. 1, selling more than 250,000 copies during its first week in stores.
The video for the album's latest video, "Dirty Little Thing," recently debuted on Fuse, and is streaming at the group's website. Directed by Motion Theory, the clip--which features a mix of live performance and animation by Japanese illustrator Rockin' Jellybean--depicts the band performing inside an animated runaway train.
