Cake, Gomez, Robbers on board for Virgin college tour
Up-and-coming New York-based quartet Robbers on High Street will join headliners Cake and the U.K.'s Gomez on the main stage of this year's Virgin College Mega Tour.
Organizers announced the addition of Robbers to the lineup--along with much of the tour's itinerary--on Thursday (2/17). Ticket on-sale information hadn't been announced at press time.
The 20-city tour will visit college markets, and will feature "a daytime village on campuses that will include an emerging artist stage, karaoke booth, contest giveaways and the latest games, new product demonstrations and gadgets for the college market," according to a press release.
Sacramento-based Cake continues to support last year's "Pressure Chief," which features the singles "No Phone" and "Wheels." Gomez is backing its fourth album, the Tchad Blake-produced "Split the Difference," which hit stores last May.
"Tree City," the debut album from Robbers on High Street, hits stores next week. The group issued the EP "Fine Lines" in 2004.
The debut Virgin College Mega Tour took place last year and featured main-stage acts Michelle Branch, Gavin DeGraw and Rooney.
