Breaking Benjamin nails down headlining tour
Alt-metal outfit Breaking Benjamin backs its sophomore set during a six-week headlining tour on the North American club and theater circuit.
The Pennsylvania-based quartet kicks things off on its home turf with a March 1 show at the Crowbar in State College, then spends about two weeks winding its way through the Northeast before heading westward. Dates so far are set through the end of March, with more to follow. Details are shown in the itinerary below.
The group has tapped Theory of a Deadman and The Exies to open. Theory of a Deadman's sophomore effort, "Gasoline," lands in stores on March 29, while The Exies are backing their second major-label release, last year's "Head for the Door."
Breaking Benjamin's second album, "We Are Not Alone," surfaced last June. The set, which follows 2002's "Saturate," features the hit singles "So Cold" and "Sooner or Later," as well as three other cuts that singer/guitarist Ben Burnley co-wrote with former Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan.
In November, Breaking Benjamin offered up a five-track EP that features an acoustic version of "So Cold," as well as "Blow Me Away"--a track the group contributed to the video game "Halo 2"--"Lady Bug" and live versions of "Away" and "Breakdown."
Streaming samples of all of the cuts from "Blow Me Away" and the "So Cold" EP are streaming at Breaking Benjamin's website.
