Surviving Alice in Chains members to reunite for benefit

February 2, 2005 11:32 AM
Alice in Chains guitarist Jerry Cantrell , bassist Mike Inez and drummer Sean Kinney will take the stage together for the first time in eight years during an upcoming tsunami benefit.

Scheduled to take place Feb. 18 at Seattle's Premier Club, the event--which will benefit Tsunami Continued Care--will also feature fellow Seattleites Ann Wilson of Heart , Krist Novoselic of Nirvana , Sir Mix-A-Lot and guitarist Chris DeGarmo of Queensryche .

Tickets for the concert go on sale on Thursday via Seattle radio station KROCK 96.5 FM's website. More information is posted at the site.

The concert will mark the first time that Cantrell, Inez and Kinney have played together live since 1996. The trio plans to team with a yet-to-be-announced singer for the event; AIC vocalist Layne Staley, whose drug addiction kept the group from touring during much of the mid-'90s, died of an overdose in 2002.
