Briefly: They Might Be Giants, CMT Awards, Toby Keith, Kelly Osbourne
They Might Be Giants , who signed a deal with the new Walt Disney Records imprint Disney Sound last year, issue a new CD and DVD titled "Here Come the ABCs" on Feb. 15.
The DVD edition features more than an hour of music--as well as a mix of animated sequences, puppets and live performance--designed to help kids understand the alphabet.
A series of free performances at Borders bookstores are planned in support of the set; details are posted the veteran alt-rock duo's website. They Might Be Giants previously issued the children's album "No!" (2002) and the book-and-CD set "Bed, Bed, Bed" (2003).
The 2005 CMT Music Awards, to be televised live April 11 from Nashville on the country music cable network, will feature performances by Kenny Chesney , Toby Keith , Big & Rich , Gretchen Wilson and others to be announced.
Comic Jeff Foxworthy will host the event.
The new Toby Keith single "Honky Tonk U" will be available exclusively at Walmart.com beginning Feb. 8. After 30 days, it will be available at other outlets.
"Sleep in the Nothing," Kelly Osbourne's sophomore album, is scheduled to reach stores on June 7, according to Sanctuary Records. The set, produced by Linda Perry, includes several tracks that Osbourne (the daughter of Ozzy) co-wrote.
