Briefly: Ben Folds, Noise Pop, Ramones, Elton John

An April 26 release date is set for "Songs for Silverman," the first full-length album from Ben Folds since 2001's "Rockin' the Suburbs."

According to a press release, Folds had nearly completed "Silverman" in early 2004, but he later returned to the studio to re-record the material--along with two new songs--with bassist Jared Reynolds and drummer Lindsay Jamieson. The 11-song set was recorded at the same RCA Studio previously used by Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley and Carl Perkins.

Since "Suburbs," Folds has released three consecutive EPs.
