Kenny Chesney, Gretchen Wilson nail down itinerary
Country singer Kenny Chesney , who previously announced plans to hit the road in March with Gretchen Wilson and Uncle Kracker in tow, has locked in venues for the outing.
The tour kick-off in Green Bay, WI, has been expanded to two nights--March 10-11--and the trek is slated to run until at least mid-May. Details are shown below.
At press time, a venue was still pending for a May 14 stop in Dallas, which is currently listed as the tour's last show.
Tickets for several dates are scheduled to hit the box office Saturday (1/29), and members of Chesney's fan club will have access to online pre-sales that begin Tuesday (1/25). More information is available at the singer's website.
"Me and the guys have been getting ready [for the tour] since November," Chesney said in a message to fans posted at his website. "We've got a few surprises ... several new songs in the set ... an even bigger, better stage ... and the one thing we know we can count on is you!"
The new songs Chesney mentioned will include cuts from his latest album, "Be As You Are: Songs from an Old Blue Chair," which arrives in stores Tuesday (1/25). The set follows last year's "When the Sun Goes Down," which, with sales of more than 3 million copies, was the No. 4 top-selling album of 2004.
Chesney's 2004 outing landed him the title for last year's top-grossing and top-drawing country music act, according to concert industry trade-publication Pollstar.
Newcomer Wilson also had a big year in 2004: her debut set, "Here for the Party," was last year's No. 5 top-selling album.
Uncle Kracker is working the road behind his third album, last year's "72 & Sunny."
