Motley Crue inks more North American dates

Motley Crue 's upcoming reunion tour has doubled in size, with stops now set in almost 50 North American cities.

The group's itinerary, which previously ran from mid-February through late March, now features a slew of additional U.S. and Canadian shows that extend the run into early May. Details are shown below.

Tickets for most stops are on sale now. In addition to regular ticket sales, the group is also offering premium ticket packages through its website; priced at $150 and $400, the two available packages feature various perks, with the higher-priced option including a meet-and-greet/photo with the band. More information is posted at the group's site.

Fans can expect to hear many of the Crue's hits, as well as a number of songs "the band has either never played live, or has not played live in many years," according to the site. Shows will likely clock in at more than two hours; as such, the band is debating whether or not to bring along an opening act.

The tour--Motley Crue's first since 1999 to feature the four original members: Nikki Sixx (bass), Mick Mars (guitar), Tommy Lee (drums) and Vince Neil (vocals)--follows the Feb. 1 release of "Red, White & Crue," a two-disc best-of set that features 37 tracks, including three new songs: "If I Die Tomorrow," "Sick Love Song" and a cover of The Rolling Stones' "Street Fighting Man."

Known for their internal squabbles, the members of Motley Crue have stayed busy with side projects since splitting up in 1999: Lee recently released an autobiography titled "Tommyland," and is scheduled to star in a new NBC reality program that will debut this year; Sixx has been touring and recording with his post-Motley outfit Brides of Destruction, and is preparing to release an autobiography titled "The Heroin Diaries"; and Neil has continued to tour as a solo artist, was a cast member on the WB reality series "The Surreal Life" and recently was the subject of a VH1 makeover special.

Guitarist Mick Mars, meanwhile--who has struggled since his teens with the chronic, degenerative illness ankylosing spondylitis, according to a press release--is recovering from hip replacement surgery. The disease is a form of arthritis that primarily causes inflammation of the joints between the vertebrae and the joints between the spine and pelvis, according to the Mayo Clinic's website.

In addition to their tour plans, the members of Motley Crue, along with MTV Films/Paramount and writer Rich Wilkes ("XXX"), are developing a feature film based on the band's best-selling autobiography, "The Dirt."
