Briefly: Tsunami telethon, Ashlee Simpson, Eminem, Green Day
Sheryl Crow , Christina Aguilera and Tim McGraw will be among the acts to perform during a Jan. 15 telethon to benefit tsunami victims in Southern Asia, the New York Times reports.
The benefit will be aired on the NBC Universal Television Group, which includes the NBC, CNBC, MSNBC, Bravo, Trio and SCI FI networks.
Other celebrities are being asked to appear on the program, producer Larry Klein told the Times.
Just weeks after her flubbed performance on "Saturday Night Live," pop singer Ashlee Simpson suffered another high-profile embarrassment Tuesday night (1/4) when the crowd at Miami's Orange Bowl booed her heartily after she performed her single "La La" at halftime.
Eminem 's "Encore" remains at No. 1 on the U.S. album chart for the second straight week and its fourth week overall. Green Day's "American Idiot" jumped seven slots on The Billboard 200 album chart to No. 2.
Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz' "Crunk Juice" jumps from No. 15 to No. 3, while "MTV Ultimate Mash-Ups Presents Jay-Z and Linkin Park: Collision Course" rises four spots to No. 4.
Rounding out the Top 5 is Ludacris' "Red Light District," up five notches from a week ago.
