Snoop Dogg goes on the prowl with winter tour
The rapper starts the New Year with a Jan. 2 performance in Atlantic City, and subsequent dates currently run from late January through early February. Details are shown in the itinerary below.
Fellow rapper Chingy --whose latest album, "Powerballin'," landed in stores in November--is tentatively scheduled to join Snoop on several dates, though specifics have not yet been hammered out, according to Chingy's publicist.
"R+G," which also surfaced in November, is Snoop's first album for The Neptunes' Star Trak label (a Geffen imprint), and features guest appearances from 50 Cent, Justin Timberlake, Nelly, Lil Jon, Trina, Bootsy Collins, Charlie Wilson, and The Neptunes--a.k.a. Chad Hugo and Pharrell Williams.
Snoop and Williams recently picked up Grammy nominations in the Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group categories for the "R+G" cut "Drop It Like It's Hot." Winners will be named during the 47th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony, which takes place in Los Angeles on Feb. 13, and will air on CBS television.
In addition to recording and touring, Snoop has also taken on the role of radio disc-jockey, and now hosts a monthly rap program--dubbed "Da Church"--on XM Satellite Radio. The 90-minute show is re-aired several times each month. A full schedule is posted at Snoop's website.
