Barry Manilow [ tickets ] has signed on to give five performances per week at the Las Vegas Hilton during various stints throughout 2005 and into 2006, the hotel confirmed on Tuesday (12/14).

The singer/songwriter begins the first stage of the engagement on Feb. 23, and tickets for initial shows will go on sale via the Las Vegas Hilton box office on Saturday (12/18).

"The Las Vegas Hilton, in signing this long-term agreement, is recapturing its entertainment glory with one of the most popular singers of our time," Las Vegas Hilton CEO and General Manager Rudy Prieto said in a statement.

The Las Vegas Hilton Theater is best known as the venue where Elvis Presley regularly performed during the later years of his career.

Word of Manilow's Las Vegas show, "Manilow: Music and Passion," comes on the heels of what the singer said was his last tour, a 22-city jaunt dubbed "One Night Live! One Last Time!"

"I've spent the last three months telling audiences that since I wouldn't be touring again, the only way to see me is if you come to my home," Manilow said in a statement. "Well, I've got a new home ... The Las Vegas Hilton! Las Vegas is now the home to a large number of talented performers and I feel lucky to be joining the group."

During the weeks his show is live, Manilow will be performing at the Hilton Theater Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at 9 p.m., and Saturdays at 7:30 and 10 p.m. Ticket prices will range from $85 to $145, not including taxes and service charges.

Other artists who recently signed long-term deals to perform in Las Vegas include Celine Dion, whose production parks at Caesar's Palace, and Elton John, who performs at the same venue during some of Dion's off-nights.
