Briefly: Green Day, Rolling Stones, Heart, Gretchen Wilson, Langerado Music Festival
Featured on Green Day's latest album, "American Idiot," "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" sits at No. 1 on Billboard's latest Modern Rock Tracks chart.
The Rolling Stones recently completed a round of recording sessions with producer Don Was, Billboard reports. The group plans to reconvene early next year for more sessions that are expected to yield a new album in the summer of 2005, according to the report.
Heart --sister duo Ann and Nancy Wilson--joined country up-and-comer Gretchen Wilson on stage during the country singer's Wednesday night (12/8) performance at the House of Blues in Las Vegas, according to Gretchen Wilson's label, Sony Music Nashville.
Gretchen and Ann Wilson traded vocals on classic Heart rock hits "Barracuda" and "Straight On" while Nancy Wilson played guitar.
"This was beyond a dream come true for me," Gretchen Wilson said in a statement. "I sang Heart songs in cover bands, but I never thought I'd actually be on stage with them!"
String Cheese Incident , Medeski Martin & Wood, Keller Williams, Toots and the Maytals, De La Soul, Michael Franti & Spearhead and others are scheduled to appear at next year's third-annual Langerado Music Festival, which is scheduled for March 12-13 at Markham Park in Sunrise, FL. More information is available at the event's website.
