Elton John packs for a busy touring year in 2005
Elton John plans to support his new album, "Peachtree Road," with an abundance of 2005 roadwork.
The first batch of John's U.S. dates gets underway in March, and focuses on the South and Midwest. Tickets are expected to go on sale in early December; members of John's Rocket Club fan club will have access to pre-sales. Details are posted at his website.
John will also perform a few 2005 stints at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. In 2003, he signed a deal to perform 75 concerts at the venue--which was built for Celine Dion's "A New Day" production--over three years. John performs during periods when Dion's show is dark.
The Las Vegas show, designed by photographer and director David LaChapelle, is dubbed "The Red Piano."
John's confirmed itinerary thus far is shown below.
"Peachtree Road," the 43rd album of John's three-decade-plus career, hit stores on Nov. 17. It debuted at No. 17 on The Billboard 200 album chart.
Also this fall, the four-DVD set "Dream Ticket," which features live performances of more than 70 songs as well as other previously unreleased material, went on sale exclusively at Best Buy stores and bestbuy.com.
Meanwhile, Bravo-TV will premiere a concert film shot in July during five concerts at New York's Radio City Music Hall. John and his band were backed on those shows by a full symphony orchestra and a choir featuring students from The Royal Academy of Music, London and The Juilliard School in New York.
