Warped Tour founder reveals plans for Taste of Chaos

Kevin Lyman, creator of the annual Vans Warped Tour summer outing, is set to launch a winter version of the run, dubbed the Taste of Chaos tour.

Due to begin in February 2005, the tour is slated to be an annual, multi-artist, multimedia outing based on its summer predecessor, but will play arenas and ballrooms instead of outdoor venues.

"'Taste of Chaos' will combine amazing entertainment with value for the fans, something I've been a proponent of my whole career," Lyman said in a statement.

Lyman has tapped The Used to headline the inaugural Taste of Chaos outing. The group is backing its new album, "In Love and Death," which landed in stores on Sept. 28. The set features the cut "Take It Away."

"We've cut our teeth on the Warped Tour, and we are really excited to be able to play in the first year of 'Taste of Chaos,'" The Used frontman Bert McCracken said in a statement. "Any time we can perform with other amazing bands and the kids don't have to pay all of their hard earned cash to see them is a great thing. Kevin Lyman is a smart motherf---er."

Additional bands, attractions and tour dates will be announced "shortly," and a tour website will soon be launched, according to a press release.
