Velvet Revolver fires off more tour dates

UPDATED Oct. 14, 2004, 2:31 PM: Rock supergroup Velvet Revolver has unveiled a slew of new stops for a fall tour that kicks off on Saturday (10/16).

The headlining trek now stretches through the end of the year. So far, most shows are set in October and November, with a handful of December stops also planned. The itinerary is currently due to wrap with a two-night stand at The Joint in Las Vegas on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Details are shown below.

Tickets for a number of shows are on sale now, and the band's website is offering online pre-sales for various dates. More information is posted at the site.

Velvet Revolver features ex-Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland; former Guns N' Roses members Slash (guitar), Duff McKagen (bass) and Matt Sorum (drums); and former Suicidal Tendencies member David Kushner (guitar).

"Contraband," the group's debut album, surfaced in June. The set features the cuts "Slither" and "Fall to Pieces," as well as "Set Me Free," which first turned up on last year's "Hulk" soundtrack.

On Thursday (10/14), Velvet Revolver is scheduled to perform on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno"; a Dec. 2 performance on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" is also planned.

[Editor's note: This story originally contained information about a free Velvet Revolver concert in Hollywood, which we erroneously reported was scheduled for Thursday night (10/14); the show actually took place on Wednesday night (10/13).]
