Diana Ross readies for November theater dates
Diana Ross , who came to fame in the '60s as the leader of the legendary Motown group The Supremes before embarking on a successful solo career, has lined up a U.S. theater tour that is scheduled to visit 10 cities in November.
The outing launches with a two-night stand in Atlantic City, NJ, and will also touch down in Los Angeles, Detroit, Chicago and Minneapolis, among other stops. Details are in the itinerary below.
According to a press release, Ross--who is celebrating three decades as a recording artist--"has selected venues on this tour with an intimate atmosphere in order to create a very special evening of entertainment for her fans."
In February, Motown issued "The No. 1s," a new album that culled material from throughout Ross' career with The Supremes and as a solo artist. Producer Harry Weinger, working from the original master tapes, created some slightly longer versions of several tracks.
Ross hasn't performed much in recent years, but she did play a free June concert in Greenwich, CT, to benefit a teen center.
