Barenaked Ladies support holiday album with brief tour
Barenaked Ladies get busy in December with a round of North American concert dates that back the group's recently released holiday set.
The Canadian quintet is scheduled to kick things off in New York City on Dec. 7, first with a performance on "Live with Regis & Kelly" and, later that same day, a concert at the Beacon Theatre. A two-night stand in Boston follows before the group tackles a handful of shows set primarily in the East and Midwest. The outing is currently due to wrap up on Dec. 20 in Toronto. Details are shown below.
More dates may be added, according to the group's management company.
On Oct. 5, Barenaked Ladies issued "Barenaked for the Holidays," a 20-track set that features the group's versions of 14 holiday classics, as well as six original numbers.
"We had been asked by fans when we were going to do this," guitarist/singer Ed Robertson said in a statement. "We have done a lot of holiday time shows and have built up quite a repertoire of songs. It seemed like a logical extension."
Barenaked Ladies last toured the U.S. during a summer co-headlining tour with fellow Canadian artist Alanis Morissette. The band's most-recent collection of all-original material is last year's "Everything to Everyone."
