Cake handles 'Pressure' by adding more shows
Alt-rockers Cake , who this week dropped a new album and launched a supporting tour, will follow their current round of North American shows with more dates next month.
The Sacramento-based band has penciled in a handful of November dates on the West Coast of the U.S. and Canada, and has also scheduled a lone December date in Montreal.
Before all of that, the band will spend much of October hitting clubs and theaters throughout North America, and will then head to Europe for a series of early November shows. The group's current North American tour itinerary is shown below.
The group's setlist will include a mix of previously released material and cuts from new album "Pressure Chief," which landed in stores on Tuesday (10/5).
"We can't wait to hit the new material hard and play some of the well-oiled older favorites," trumpeter Vince DiFiore said in a statement.
"Pressure Chief" is the follow-up to 2001's "Comfort Eagle." The new set was recorded in a converted house in Sacramento, and is the first album for which the band didn't use a conventional recording studio.
Northern State --a New York-based, female rap trio that's backing its just-released sophomore album, "All City"--is slated to open all of the October shows.
