John Fogerty lines up November headlining shows
Former Creedence Clearwater Revival frontman John Fogerty will follow up his trek on the Vote for Change Tour with a series of headlining dates to back his new album, "Deja Vu All Over Again."
The headlining tour--which is being booked into theaters and large clubs--is scheduled to open Nov. 8 in Nashville, and nearly a dozen North American dates were confirmed at press time. Additional dates are in the works, according to Fogerty's website.
"Deja Vu All Over Again" hit stores last month, and debuted at No. 23 on The Billboard 200 album chart. The album's title track draws parallels between the war in Iraq and the Vietnam War.
The new album is Fogerty's first new studio set since 1997's "Blue Moon Swamp." That was followed with 1998's "Premonition," which included 18 live tracks that he recorded during a performance the previous year. It was around that time that Fogerty began to play CCR hits in concert; for well over a decade, he refused to play the songs because of a long-running business dispute with CCR's label, Fantasy Records.
Fogerty--who voiced his opposition to the Vietnam War in Creedence Clearwater Revival songs like "Fortunate Son"--is participating in the current Vote for Change Tour, which comprises six separate treks aimed at motivating progressive voters in states expected to be pivotal in this year's U.S. presidential election.
