Black Eyed Peas book November college dates
Hip-hop act Black Eyed Peas , who continue to back their platinum 2003 album, "Elephunk," are gearing up for a fall tour of the U.S. college circuit.
The group's third album has spawned the Top 10 single "Where Is the Love," as well as the follow-up hits "Hey Mama" and radio edit "Let's Get It Started" (titled "Let's Get Retarded" on the album).
"Elephunk" topped out at No. 14 on the U.S. album charts, but reached No. 1 in the U.K. Band member Taboo, in a January interview, told liveDaily that the album's success has come as a bit of a surprise.
"When we make these records, we don't expect them to be No. 1," he said. "We don't expect the success of it because we go in thinking, 'This could be our last record so let's go out with a bang. Let's show the world we went out and we went out great.' Luckily, it's not going to be our last record. That's a great thing."
"Elephunk" is Black Eyed Peas' first album with new member Fergie, who replaced backing vocalist Kim Hill.
