Bruce Springsteen takes Vote for Change Tour home

The politically charged Vote for Change Tour, previously scheduled to conclude with a 13-act, Oct. 11 finale in Washington, DC, has been expanded to touch down in Bruce Springsteen 's home state.

Organizers on Monday (10/4) announced the addition of an Oct. 13 show at East Rutherford, NJ's Continental Airlines Arena that will feature Springsteen and the E Street Band, Jackson Browne , John Fogerty and Springsteen's wife (and bandmate) Patti Scialfa .

Tickets to the New Jersey show will go on sale Wednesday (10/6) via Ticketmaster, according to Springsteen's official website. (Ticketmaster is liveDaily's parent company.)

The Vote for Change Tour--which comprises six separate treks aimed at motivating progressive voters in states expected to be pivotal in this year's U.S. presidential election--got underway last week.

Thirteen of the acts participating in the tour--including Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, R.E.M., Dixie Chicks, Pearl Jam and Dave Matthews Band--are also scheduled to join forces at an Oct. 11 show at Washington, DC's MCI Center. The remaining itinerary is below.

The Vote for Change tours are political fundraisers presented by MoveOn.org to benefit the liberal advocacy group America Coming Together, so various federal rules apply to ticket sales, according to organizers. Ticket buyers must:

  • be at least 18 years old.
  • be a U.S. citizen or resident alien.
  • purchase the tickets using his/her own credit card.
  • provide his/her name, address, email address, occupation and employer.

More information is available at the ACT and MoveOn.org websites.

Because the extra information must be collected when tickets are purchased, tickets sold by Ticketmaster will be available only via telephone and online; tickets won't be sold at Ticketmaster outlets.
