Paul McCartney, others join Neil Young for Bridge School benefit
Paul McCartney , The Red Hot Chili Peppers , Tony Bennett , Sonic Youth, Ben Harper and The Innocent Criminals, Los Lonely Boys and Tegan & Sara have signed on for the 18th annual Bridge School Benefit Concert, which will also feature event founder Neil Young .
The concert is scheduled to take place Oct. 23-24 at the San Francisco-area's Shoreline Amphitheatre, site of most of the event's previous 17 incarnations. Tickets will be available at the venue's box office and via Ticketmaster beginning
Sunday (9/12). (Ticketmaster is liveDaily's parent company.)
More information is available at the Bridge School's website.
The Bridge School Benefit Concert typically features acoustic performances, and unannounced acts often make surprise appearances.
The concert benefits the Bridge School, which serves severely speech-impaired children in the San Francisco Bay Area. Young's wife, Pegi, and Jim Forderer--both parents of children with severe speech and physical impairments--co-founded the school in 1986 along with Dr. Marilyn Buzolich.
