Earth, Wind and Fire stays linked with Chicago for fall tour
Bruce Hornsby, whose latest album hit stores last month, follows his summer U.S. outing with another swing on the theater circuit.
The singer/songwriter launches the fall run in early October, and dates so far are set through early November. Details are shown below.
The tour will hit many of the same states where Hornsby touched down during his summer outing, as well as a number of new markets. Included in the itinerary is a three-night run in New York City, each night of which is booked into a different venue; one of those performances--Oct. 28 at Carnegie Hall--will feature Hornsby on his own, sans band, according to his website.
The roadwork supports Hornsby's Aug. 10 release, "Halycon Days," his first release for Columbia Records. The set features the single "Changes Made," which sits atop industry-trade publication Radio & Records' latest Triple A chart.
Hornsby penned all 11 tracks on "Halycon Days," and re-teamed with producer Wayne Pooley for the set; Pooley first worked with Hornsby on 1993's "Harbor Lights." Guests featured on the album--which is Hornsby's ninth full-length--include Eric Clapton, Elton John and Sting.
Hornsby and his band--The Range--rose to fame in the mid-'80s with their debut album, "The Way It Is." The triple-platinum set spawned three Top 20 hits, including the No. 1 title track, and earned the group the Grammy award for Best New Artist.
The eight albums Hornsby has released to date have sold a combined total of more than 10 million copies worldwide, according to Columbia.
