New Eminem album due in November

Aftermath/Interscope Records has scheduled a Nov. 16 release date for "Encore," rapper Eminem 's first full album of new material since 2002's "The Eminem Show."

"The Eminem Show" went on to sell more than 19 million albums worldwide, according to Interscope, and was followed by "Music from and Inspired by the Motion Picture '8 Mile'," the soundtrack to a film that stars Eminem. The soundtrack sold more than 9 million copies, and spawned the Oscar-winning song "Lose Yourself."

Earlier this year, the Detroit rapper's side group, D-12, issued "D-12 World," a set that sold more than 3 million copies worldwide, according to Interscope.

Born Marshall Mathers, Eminem burst onto the hip-hop scene with 1999's multi-platinum "The Slim Shady LP." He followed it with 2000's "The Marshall Mathers LP," which sold more than 5 million copies during its first month in U.S. stores.
