Jimmy Buffett [ tickets ], who last month announced plans to give October concerts in Las Vegas and in the San Diego area, has confirmed venues and ticket on-sale dates for those shows.

Vegas-area parrotheads can look forward to seeing Buffett at the MGM Grand on Oct. 16 and 23; tickets for both shows will hit the box office on Saturday (8/21), according to Buffett's website.

Meanwhile, Chula Vista, CA's Coors Amphitheatre will be the site of Buffett's Oct. 20 stop in that city. Tickets are scheduled to go on sale on Sept. 18.

The October shows follow Buffett's late-August stops in Chicago and Illinois, as well as September dates in Burgettstown, PA; Wantagh, NY; and a two-night stand at Boston's Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox. The singer/songwriter's itinerary appears below.

Buffett's roadwork backs his latest album, "License To Chill." Released in July, the set moved 235,000 copies during its first week in stores, enough to debut at the top of The Billboard 200 album chart. The set, which is Buffett's first-ever No. 1 album, continues to ride the Top 10, and has sold about 683,000 copies to date, according to industry sources.

"License to Chill" features guest appearances by several country artists, including Kenny Chesney, Martina McBride, George Strait and Toby Keith. The country-tinged set follows the CMA- and ACM-award winning "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere," a duet by Buffett and Alan Jackson that appeared on Jackson's 2003 best-of album.
