Tim McGraw concerts to be filmed for TV special
Tim McGraw 's upcoming shows in Green Bay, WI, will be filmed for use in his second NBC-TV special, according to McGraw's publicist.
The shows, which take place Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 at the Resch Center, will also feature Big & Rich , The Warren Brothers and an as-yet unannounced special guest. (McGraw's wife, Faith Hill, appears at many of McGraw's shows.) The airdate for the special hasn't been announced. McGraw's first television concert special, "Sing Me Home," aired in August 2002.
Ticket information for the first Green Bay performance is available at the Resch Center's website; on-sale information about the second show wasn't available at press time.
McGraw and his band, The Dancehall Doctors, launch a new leg of tour dates on Thursday (8/19) in Baton Rouge, LA, and will remain on the road well into October. The group spent the early summer on the outdoor amphitheater circuit, but will move to indoor arenas for most of the upcoming dates. Details are shown below.
McGraw's plans also include an Aug. 27 performance in New York City's Bryant Park as part of the "Good Morning America" summer concert series.
"Live Like You Were Dying," McGraw's new album, is due in stores on Aug. 24. It is the follow-up to 2002's multi-platinum "Tim McGraw and The Dancehall Doctors."
McGraw makes his major motion-picture acting debut with Billy Bob Thornton in the upcoming film "Friday Night Lights," which is due in theaters on Oct. 8, a week earlier than originally announced.
