G. Love and Special Sauce drop new album, mount tour
Titled "The Hustle," the new album is scheduled for an Aug. 24 release. The following day, G. Love & Special Sauce team with singer/songwriter Jack Johnson for a joint tour that will also feature Donavon Frankenreiter.
After finishing the run with Johnson in late September, G. Love & Special Sauce--Garrett Dutton (lead vocals/guitars/harmonica), Jim "Jimi Jazz" Prescott (acoustic bass) and Jeffrey "Thunderhouse" Clemens (drums/percussion)--set out on their own for a series of October headlining dates. Details are shown below.
"The Hustle," which is the follow-up to 2001's "Electric Mile," is due out on Johnson's Brushfire Records. The label also issued Frankenreiter's self-titled debut in May, a set that Johnson co-produced with Mario Caldato Jr.
"On and On," Johnson's latest album, surfaced in May of last year.
