Brooks and Dunn stretch travels on the 'Red Dirt Road'
Though they've already played about three-dozen shows this year, country duo Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn continue to expand their concert schedule.
With a new series of amphitheater dates now confirmed, Brooks & Dunn are set to remain on the road through October. Fellow duo Montgomery Gentry will appear on some dates, as will country newcomer Gretchen Wilson. Details are on Brooks & Dunn's website.
Brooks & Dunn's plans include an Aug. 6 show--along with Rascal Flatts, Steve Holy and The Corrs--for about 30,000 military members, their families and guests at San Diego's Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base. A full stage production will be built on the beach, from the ground up.
"These folks put their butts on the line for the values this country believes in every day," Brooks said in a statement. "They don't complain or make a deal out of serving this country, they just suit up and do what's asked of them, expecting nothing. To me, people who can make a sacrifice like that are people we should be thanking as loudly and powerfully as we can."
Brooks & Dunn continue to support their latest album, "Red Dirt Road," which they released last year.
The duo's second best-of album is expected to hit stores this fall, but a release date hasn't been scheduled.
