Jadakiss revs for live shows behind chart-topping album

Jadakiss backs his chart-topping sophomore album with a round of late-summer concerts.

The New York-based rapper has lined up a handful of August shows--many of which are set at House of Blues clubs --and has also penciled in a lone September stop in Washington, DC.

Six of the shows are billed as part of the Pepsi Smash Tour, and will also feature Jagged Edge and Fabolous, according to Jadakiss' website. Details are shown below.

The outing backs "Kiss of Death," which hit stores in late June. The set sold about 426,000 copies during its first week out, and debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 album chart.

"Kiss of Death" is the follow-up to Jadakiss' 2001 debut, "Kiss tha Game Goodbye," and, according to the rapper, might be one of the last solo sets he releases before taking on a less visible role in the music business.

"This is the one right here," he said in a statement. "I know everybody says that, but I don't plan on really doing this that much longer. I'm trying to go behind the scenes."
