Tim McGraw [ tickets ]'s forthcoming album, "Live Like You Were Dying," doesn't hit stores until late August, but fans embraced the new songs during his Sunday (7/25) show at Cricket Pavilion in Phoenix.

Part of the acceptance was bolstered by Faith Hill's guest appearance for the new track "Blank Sheet of Paper." Wearing a sun dress, Hill rocked back and forth on a chair, and smiled brightly as she sang with her husband. The Warren Brothers, who co-wrote "Blank Sheet of Paper" with McGraw and also served as one of the night's opening acts, returned to the stage to provide back-up on the song.

Afterwards, McGraw slyly introduced his wife as "Mrs. McGraw," generating a rabid response from the steamy, sold-out crowd.

The two-hour performance was all about guest stars. Cowboy Troy, who is touring with opening act Big and Rich, provided an L.L. Cool J-like rap during "She's My Kind of Rain." The Warren Brothers made frequent appearances during the night, including a rousing sing-along for "I Like It, I Love It."

As usual, McGraw kept the stage banter to a minimum.

"If you've been to my shows before, you know one thing: We don't bulls---. We just play music," McGraw said before launching into the fourth song, "Watch the Wind Blow By."

The performer instead danced in circles with his armed outstretched, took swings with an imaginary baseball bat and launched an aggressive "Awww, hell yeah," when wrapping up "Where the Green Grass Grows."

"My name is Tim McGraw and these are my boys," he said in reference to his band the Dancehall Doctors. "I'd like to say hi to a friend of mine who's from Phoenix. Mr. Rick Schroeder."

On McGraw's last Phoenix tour stop, the television actor made a guest appearance during the show. The two were filming the forthcoming movie "Black Cloud." This time around, McGraw used the salute as a way of pumping the movie, slated to be his film debut.

Perhaps the set's most striking number was "Live Like You Were Dying." As McGraw hit the dramatic chorus, multiple video screens on stage turned white, providing a heavenly backdrop. Many fans in the audience cried as McGraw sang the song, reportedly in reference to his late father, baseball player Tug McGraw.

McGraw dedicated the new song "My Old Friend" to a family friend who served in Iraq. The video screen backdrops aired a slideshow of photos that the friend gave to McGraw. The singer used the opportunity for the now-predictable presidential-election comment.

"I don't care if you're Democrat or Republican. You need to vote. It's American. It's a privilege so go out and do it," he said.

For the song, he pulled women from the audience to sit on stage, forging a comfortable, if not crowded, atmosphere. It was during this segment that Hill came on stage. The fans on stage took the opportunity to snap pictures of her as she sang quietly.

As always, McGraw oozed personality and charm, winning over fans with his effervescent attitude.

Announcing that he been on the road for 14 years, he said, "We're gonna continue to do this as long as you come to see us and as long as I can fit in these jeans."
