PJ Harvey sets up brief California outing
Like many acts originally scheduled to take part in this summer's now-defunct Lollapalooza outing, PJ Harvey is making alternate touring plans.
Fresh off a European run, Harvey is set to mount a week-long tour of California. The short string of shows gets started in Solana Beach on Aug. 13 and includes a two-night stand at the Knitting Factory in Los Angeles. Details are shown below.
Also on tap is an Aug. 15 performance at the Don't Knock the Rock Festival in Los Angeles, a four-day film and music festival that begins on Aug. 12. Other acts scheduled to perform over the course of the event include John Doe, Built to Spill, J Mascis and Doug Martsch, and Jon Brion. More information is available at the festival's website.
Harvey is on the road to back her latest album, last month's "Uh Huh Her." The set is the follow-up to her 2001 Mercury Music Prize-winning "Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea."
Before kicking off her California jaunt, Harvey is slotted to give a July 24 headlining performance at the Splendour in the Grass Festival in Byron Bay, Australia. She will also play a special show at Byron Bay's Back Room Club on July 25. Tickets for the show hit the box office on Friday, according to Harvey's website.
