Lonestar tour spills into the fall to support new album
Country mainstays Lonestar plan to remain on the road well into the fall as they continue to back their latest album, "Let's Be Us Again."
The itinerary runs through Halloween, and consists primarily of stops on the U.S. fair circuit. Also on tap are headlining performances at Wisconsin's Country Thunder USA and Country Jam USA festivals. Details are shown below.
In addition to the slew of tour dates, Lonestar's plans also include an engagement to perform the national anthem at the Nov. 15 "Monday Night Football" game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles.
The roadwork follows the late-May release of "Let's Be Us Again," which is Lonestar's first collection of new material set since 2001's "I'm Already There." The new album's title track sits at No. 13 on Billboard's latest Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart after peaking at No. 4 a few weeks back.
The band's members--lead singer Richie McDonald, guitarist Michael Britt, keyboardist Dean Sams and drummer Keech Rainwater--wrote or co-wrote 12 of the new album's 13 tracks, and self-produced the cut "Somebody's Someone," according to BNA Records.
"I think we finally have a grasp of what we want to say and how we want to say it," Sams said in a press release. "Richie has always been one of the keys to our success--with his voice, and pen, and although with this record it wasn't a conscious effort for us to write everything, it's pretty cool that all but one of the songs was written or co-written by members of the band. I think it shows strength, unity and growth."
BNA Records' website features a track-by-track commentary from the group.
