Briefly: R. Kelly, Courtney Love, Scott Weiland, Tamyra Gray
Embattled R&B star R. Kelly reportedly has received permission from a judge to embark on a two-month tour to support his forthcoming double album.
A judge, during a hearing held in late June, gave Kelly permission to travel if he checks in with his probation officer daily, according to MTV.com.
Kelly--who issues the two-CD set "Happy People / U Saved Me" on Aug. 24--is facing more than a dozen child pornography counts in Illinois. While out on bail, Kelly must obtain a judge's OK before leaving the state.
A judge reportedly issued an arrest warrant for Courtney Love on Friday (7/9) after she failed to appear at her Los Angeles arraignment on an assault charge.
Love's attorney told the court that Love was in New York, and was "confused" about whether she was required to attend the hearing, according to the Associated Press.
The 40-year-old singer is accused of attacking a woman with a bottle and a flashlight at the home of her former manager. She posted $55,000 bail last month, which the judge ordered forfeited on Friday. New bail was set at $150,000.
Tamyra Gray , who was a finalist on the first season of "American Idol," will join this year's American Idols Live tour as a special guest.
Velvet Revolver frontman Scott Weiland , after pleading no contest to driving under the influence of prescription drugs in October, has been sentenced to a six-month drug treatment program.
According to Weiland's publicist, the singer will complete a six-month aftercare program that runs concurrent with a program that he is participating in.
