Slayer issues a new concert DVD titled "Reign in Blood Live: Still Reigning" on Sept. 28, which the band plans to shoot during its Sunday (7/11) show in Augusta, ME.
The show will feature a performance of the band's 1986 album, "Reign in Blood," in its entirety.
Aretha Franklin , Lou Rawls , James Carter and Ramsey Lewis are among the acts booked to perform at this year's Ford Detroit International Jazz Festival.
The free event takes place Sept. 4-6 at Hart Plaza; more information is available at the festival's website.
An Aug. 10 release date has been set for "The Essential Red Collection," a best-of set from on-again, off-again Van Halen frontman Sammy Hagar .
According to a press release, the retrospective features 20 of Hagar's solo tracks--including two previously unreleased songs--in chronological order, spanning 1973 to 1999.
The Cardboard Vampyres, a new supergroup featuring Jerry Cantrell (Alice in Chains), Billy Duffy (The Cult) John Corabi (Ratt, Motley Crue), Chris Wyse (The Cult) and John Howser will debut with a July 16 performance at The Roxy in West Hollywood, CA.
According to a press release, the band will be perform classic tracks from AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, The Stooges, Alice in Chains and The Cult.
