KISS rolls out more tour dates for Rock the Nation tour
KISS founders Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley--the band's only remaining original members--lead their group on a summer tour that now stretches into mid August.
The in-progress run--presented by VH1 Classic and dubbed the Rock the Nation tour--has been expanded to include a number of new stops throughout the South and in Texas. Tickets for most of the tour's dates are on sale now, and tickets for several of the new August additions hit the box office on Saturday (7/10). Details are shown below.
KISS's performance features "rarely heard gems from the entire KISS catalog along with more fire, more screaming guitars and more spectacle than ever," according to a press release. Fellow rockers Poison open the show.
Joining bassist/singer Simmons and guitarist/singer Stanley on stage are drummer Eric Singer--who first played with the group during the band's non-make-up years--and guitarist Tommy Thayer. In concert, Singer and Thayer wear the makeup and costumes made famous by original members Peter Criss and Ace Frehley, respectively.
Thayer has been playing with the group since Frehley resumed his solo career in 2001, following what KISS had billed at the time as its farewell tour.
Criss claimed earlier this year that Simmons and Stanley had not renewed his contract with the group, and had not contacted him about the matter.
