Alice Cooper readies for tour launch, sets up fall outing

With the kick-off date for his summer tour quickly approaching, veteran rocker Alice Cooper [ tickets ] has unveiled a slew of fall concerts.

Cooper launches the summer leg of his North American tour on July 9, and is scheduled to canvas the U.S. and Canada through late August. After a subsequent break from the road, he climbs back on the tour bus for another round of shows that runs from Sept. 24 through Halloween. Details are shown below.

Backing Cooper during the outing are guitarists Eric Dover and Ryan Roxie, bassist Chuck Garric and new drummer Tommy Clufetos, who replaces longtime Cooper bandmate Eric Singer; Singer rejoined KISS earlier this year, with whom he is touring this summer.

Cooper and his band recorded the new set "in a minimalist garage-like studio setting," according to a press release. All of the musicians recorded their parts simultaneously, and very few overdubs were added.

Producer Andrew Murdock--a.k.a. Mudrock (Godsmack, Powerman 5000)--produced the set.

The album cut "Novocaine" is streaming in the Alice Cooper section of Eagle Records' website.
